Today we have reached the 4 week mark. Every new day brings us further away from Sophie's horrible past. I brought Sophie to Wincor on Wednesday and she did great! She just laid down for everyone to pet her. Sophie is getting better on the leash too. She isn't nearly as frightened of it as she used to be. Sophie decided she wanted to play a game of chase that morning too. She saw me grab her leash and she playfully ran the other direction a few times and then decided to come to me. Just when Sophie was started to show interest in playing with Zoey, I'm going to have to restrict that for a little while. Zoey had a vet appointment on Wednesday and it turns out she tore her ACL in both knees!! I'm not even sure how it happened, but she is going to need surgery and will have a 6 week confinement period for recovery. I'm working on getting the money together for the surgery and will be taking her to Waco to her old vet. They quoted me half the price of what the vet in Austin quoted!
