Rescue Day - 03/12

Sophie was rescued on 3/12 after about 5 months and several attempts. She was taken to the vet to get checked out and up to date on shots. The vet estimates Sophie to be about 4 years old. Sadly, Sophie tested positive for heartworms and will be ready to undergo treatment in about 6 to 7 months. Other than that, there is nothing else seriously wrong with her. It looks like she took good care of herself out on her own. She is very thin and still weighs in at 75lbs!! Sophie's ideal weight should be around 100lbs. The vet gave Sophie her first round of shots and she is due back in about another week for her second round. Here are some pictures taken before being rescued (these photos came from Len Bishop who went out of her way as often as she could to help feed Sophie)

When I brought Sophie home she was very scared and had no idea what she was in for. She definitely had a rough first day but not once did she act out because of it. After her rescue, she has shown no sings of aggression and has gone along with everything I've asked her to. Sophie got her first bath a few hours after being home. Turns out she is actually a WHITE dog ha ha!! Here are a few pics of her before, during, and after her bath.
